Spaces For Disabled People

Spaces For Disabled People

Why?

Worldwide, it is said that just over a billion people have some disability. In Mexico, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), there are approximately five million people with some mental difficulty, to walk or move, see, hear, speak or communicate, attend and learn, or that requires the care of third parties to survive

Not all disabilities are a genetic consequence. In fact, while 39 out of 100 cases are due to illness, 15 out of 100 are the result of an accident. Under this premise, it is vital that both buildings and schools and

houses that house people with different capacities have adequate facilities. However, the reality leaves much to be desired, so to undertake a business that consists of adapting rooms for them makes sense.

This idea is ideal for architects, civil engineers and people with experience in the field of construction. It is about creating spaces in which people without disabilities and those who present them live together in harmony and, as far as possible, individual independence.

How?

Start by knowing the rules to build or modify homes and spaces based on the needs that people with disabilities need to cover. These are available in the National Organization for Standardization and Certification of Construction and Building. Once you know exactly what kind of modifications are by law, you can offer your services not only to individuals but also to the public initiative.
